Paltry compensation sparks fresh cases of bird flu

Sukna, May 11(ANI): Indian officials in West Bengal are blaming locals for the outbreak of the bird flu virus whereas the locals are complaining that they are not being compensated enough for the culled birds. Around 300 birds mysteriously died last week in Sukna area near the bustling town of Siliguri. Veterinary workers started culling thousands of backyard poultry to control the outbreak of bird flu in the region which has struggled to control the virus since January.

Nine killed in van tanker collision in Maharashtra

Chanduri, May 11(ANI): A car collided with a tanker at Chanduri village in the Nasik district of Maharashtra killing nine and injuring two on Sunday (May11). The van was proceeding to Aurangabad in Maharashtra while the tanker was on its way to Nasik when the accident occurred. The injured were taken to Nasik civil hospital while those who dies in the accident are yet to be identified. The impact of the accident was so severe that the Maruti Omni van was totally damaged.
