Environment Ministry orders demolition of Aadarsh Society

Issuing an order today, Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said the structure had violated the Coastal Regulation (CRZ) norms and it should be demolished and the site should be restored to the original position. Maintaining that society failed to seek CRZ clearance; the environment ministry said that if the society now fails to demolish the 31 storey complex, the Maharashtra government will have to do it.
