The two sides have signed agreements in fields such as green technology, hydrological data of common rivers, media exchanges, cultural exchanges and banking sectors. There were two MoUs in the banking sector. While one agreement was signed between Reserve Bank of India and Chinese Bank Regulatory Commission, the second one was between Export-Import Bank of India and Chinese Development Bank.

SC to monitor probe into 2G-spectrum scam

DRI officials seize gas worth billions in Chennai

Chennai, December 15 (ANI): Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), functioning under the central Finance Ministry, seized about 65 cylinders of Chloro-difluoromethane gas worth Rs 25 billion at Chennai on Tuesday. The DRI seized 5 containers, which contained 65 cylinders of the gas. Each cylinder weighed 800 Kgs. Additional Director General, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Chennai C. Rajan, said that the importers faked their identity for importing the gas cylinders to India. However R22 gas requires a license to import but they imported them after misdeclaration of items and further tried to clear the items through customs.

2G scam: CBI raids Nira Radia's office, residence

New Delhi, December 15 (ANI): The CBI on Wednesday carried out searches at the premises of corporate lobbyist Niira Radia and former TRAI chairman Pradeep Baijal in connection with the alleged 2G spectrum scam, a week after conducting raids at the residences of former Telecom Minister A. Raja. Baijal was the TRAI boss between 2004 and 2008. He joined Radia's firm in 2009. According to reports, the CBI is carrying out raids at 27 places in Tamil Nadu and seven places in Delhi in connection with its probe.

People slam Cong for petrol price hike
