The incident came a day after Tata Motors decided to move its small car factory out of West Bengal. Peasants began to shout slogans as Sonia Gandhi was referring to the steps taken by the ruling party to alleviate the sufferings of the farming community. Gandhi continued her speech amidst uproarious scenes that lasted for some time.

43 people killed in a bus accident in Himachal Pradesh

Kufri, November 4 (ANI): At least 43 people were killed and six injured as a private commuter bus plunged into a 150 meters deep gorge near Kufri in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. About 49 people were traveling in the bus headed for the state capital, Shimla. The six injured have been admitted to a local medical college. The police and other forces have been rushed to the site. The teams of ITBP and Army Training Command of Shimla are carrying out rescue work.

Tata Motors to shut 2 plants for 6 days

Pune/Lucknow, November 9 (ANI): Small scale industry workers in Pune on Saturday lamented dull prospects due the cost cutting measures of Tata Motors. Tata Motors Ltd, India's largest vehicle maker, is closing two of its commercial vehicle plants for six days later this month to avoid inventory build up, a spokesman for the company said on Friday. Its commercial vehicle plant in Pune will be shut from Nov. 21-26, while its commercial vehicle plant in Lucknow will be shut from Nov.10-15.
