Vilasrao informs about govt's livelihood scheme for the poor

New Delhi, June 2 (ANI): Rural Development Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh in New Delhi on Wednesday, informed about the Central government's upcoming scheme named the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) for rural people living below the poverty line. He said, under this long-term project, ample employment opportunities would be provided to the rural folk, the women in particular, apart from imparting need-based professional training in skilled trades to young men from the isolated and remote parts of rural India. He also mentioned that NRLM would be formally launched on June 03. According to Deshmukh, the budget outlay for this scheme is rupees 30 billion out of which rupees 270 million has already been advanced to a couple of states.
