C-130 J plane capable of landing on any terrain: PV Naik

New Delhi, February 03 (ANI): Indian Air Force Marshal PV Naik said on Thursday that the soon-to-be inducted unique aircraft C-130 J 'Hercules'' is capable of landing on 'all sorts of terrains and altitudes'. Speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi, Naik reiterated the special operations capabilities of the transport aircraft, which will be inducted into the air force on February 5. The aircraft can land at any time of the day including blackouts conditions; heavy rains and can fly very low level. Special features are included to ensure aircraft survivability in hostile air defence environment.

Pakistani army medic killed in blast

Rawalpindi, Feb 25(ANI): A suicide bomber attacked a Pakistani military vehicle in Rawalpindi on February 25, killing the army's top medical officer, two of his staff and five passers-by. It was the first bomb attack outside the violence-plagued northwest since the general polls. According to a military official, Surgeon general Lieutenant-General Mushtaq Ahmed Baig, his driver and a guard were killed in the attack. The blast occurred on a main road crowded with mid-afternoon traffic.

This is a part of efforts to end protests by farmers unwilling to give up their farmlands. Tata Motors has suspended work at the factory because of the stand-off and threatened to look at alternative sites after farmers backed by the local opposition party blocked roads leading to the plant and threatened workers.

Jharkhand, June 09 (ANI): At least 19 people were killed and more than a dozen injured when a speeding bus crashed into a tree in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand on Wednesday. The bus, carrying members of a wedding party, was en route to Asansol city in neighbouring West Bengal. The tragic mishap occurred when the driver lost control of the speeding bus on the Grand Trunk Road, near Govindpuri village of Dhanbad. Sixteen people were killed on the spot while three others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
