Infiltration bid along Indo Pak border foiled

Srinagar, May 9(ANI): Indian security officials have said that an infiltration attempt in the Samba sector in Indian Jammu and Kashmir has been foiled. An Indian border observation post came under heavy firing late Thursday when an Indian soldier foiled an infiltration bid from across the border. A news agency report quoting highly placed sources in the BSF said the suspected militants fired nearly 1000 rounds and hurled 16 grenades at the BSF post.

Poisonous gas leak claims three lives

Karnal, May 9(ANI): Leakage of some poisonous gas from a chimney of an iron foundry in Karnal district in India's northern Haryana claimed three lives on Friday (May 09). Eyewitnesses said that four labourers had gone to stop the leakage of the gas from the chimney but three of them fell into the chimney and died on the spot. Local police confirmed that the labourers were killed due to excessive intake of the poisonous gas.
