Eight Maoists killed, arms recovered in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh, October 10 (ANI): In a major shootout, Maoist cadres clashed with the regional security forces in the Raipur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday. At least two officials from the Special Task Force (STF) were injured in the firing. The shootout began when Maoists opened fire at a patrol party surveying the terrain, following which the security forces hit back. The heated exchange of fire lasted several hours, as the guerillas went on rampage with an equally aggressive and well-armed band of security personnel. Eight Maoists were killed in the assault, and several sophisticated arms were seized from them, revealed police officials.
