Fuel crisis in Nepal spreads panic among people

Kathmandu, July 10(ANI): Sharp increase in the prices of fuel by the government recently had already taken a toll on the economy of Nepal. And now the reported cuts in the supply of fuel and other petroleum products from India to the Himalayan country has further aggravated the situation. Impoverished Nepal imports about 800,000 tonnes of oil annually, which accounts for less than 12 percent of its energy consumption.
