Orissa, September 04 (ANI): Workers of Vedanta Aluminium Limited (VAL) are now in fear of loosing their job after Environment Ministry rejected the clearance for the plans of the unit's refinery's expansion. The VAL workers on Thursday smashed office equipment and vandalized property of the factory in order to express their anger over the issue. Angry workers demanded an extra three months salary from the authorities after the closure of the refinery was announced, and after the discussion for the same, they broke windows, computers and office furniture.

Delhi Traffic Police advises to follow CWG road advisory

New Delhi, September 4 (ANI): Just a day prior to the commencement of the trials for special dedicated lanes for the Commonwealth Games 2010, Delhi Traffic Police planned extensive diversions and also appealed to the citizens to adhere to these road restrictions to avoid traffic chaos and fines. Ajay Chadha, Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic), disclosed this to the media persons at New Delhi on Friday. Chadha added that around 2000 traffic police personnel would be deployed all along the Games route. They would monitor and levy fines on those straying into the CWG lanes from September 20 when the athletes start arriving.
