New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): Transcending boundaries, Afghani singer Eltaf Hussain Sarahang, has become a torchbearer in his efforts to uphold the musical legacy of the subcontinent. Son of the famous Afghani classical musician Ustad Muhammad Hussain Sarahang, Eltaf was born in Kabul in 1955. Eltaf came to India in the late 80s when he was forced to abandon war-ravaged Afghanistan. He later migrated to Canada, but his bond with India brings him back now and then.

Militants Arrested In Jalandhar

Punjab, 13 Dec (ANI) : The police arrested three militants in India’s northern Jalandhar and seized 7kgs RDX on 13th December. The police apprehended these militants at the check post in Phagwara district in Punjab. Two live bombs, one unassembled bomb and 300-400 gram RDX was recovered from them. According the Punjab police the militants are Gurinder Singh, Jorawar Singh and Pariminder Singh. The militants admitted during interrogation that they were trained in bomb making by Gurpreet Singh, an accused in the Ludhiana Shingar Cinema blast.

Seven killed in blast in Pakistan's Khyber

Peshawar/Bara, June 30(ANI): An explosion in Pakistan destroyed the home of a militant in the Khyber region killing seven people. Residents of the town of Bara where the blast took place said that the house belonged to a member of the Haji Namadar group. Munsif Afridi, a spokesman for the Namdar group told the blast caused by a missile and blamed the attack on NATO forces. Pakistani security forces launched an offensive in Khyber on Saturday to push back militants who have been threatening the city of Peshawar.
