Lahore, August 24 (ANI): Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of assassinated former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto will be a candidate for president. The Pakistan People's Party, which Asif Ali Zardari leads, said that it wanted him to run in the election by legislators on Sept. 6. Pakistan's uneasy coalition partners discussed who should be the next president on Saturday. Nawaz Sharif was non-committal on Zardari's nomination, but said he wanted to see the presidency stripped of the power to dismiss parliament.

ICICI Bank is shifting thousands of jobs from Mumbai to Hyderabad. Several separatist leaders including Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mohammad Yasin Malik were put under house arrest ahead of a proposed rally on Monday. The separatist plan to protest against the failure of the centre to resolve the Kashmir issue.
