New Delhi, December 23 (ANI): Even as citizens are yet to come to terms with skyrocketing prices of onion, tomato prices have shot up across cities by almost Rs 10-15, currently selling at RS 45-55 a kg. Retail prices of tomato, which would generally be available for single-digit figure during the winter season, have shot through the roof upsetting the common man's budget. According to trade sources, prices have soared in the national capital due to supply crunch and export of the item to Pakistan. Another factor causing short supply was damage to the crop due to un-seasonal rains in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam and Gujarat's Ahmedabad regions. These are the areas from where bulk supply of tomato comes to the capital.

India, Nepal to share intelligence ahead of polls

Indian Security personnel at the Banbasa in northern Uttarakhand,said that they are in touch with Nepali troops at Kanchanpur. Mumbai,November 26 (ANI): Marking the second anniversary of the 26/11 terror attacks, Maharashtra Police on Friday took out a parade, from Oberoi Trident Hotel,one of the sites of the deadly strikes. Teams of Force One, Quick Response Teams (QRT) and Mumbai police, participated in the parade. The parade displayed advanced anti-terror combat vehicles and weapons procured by the State police following the terror attack. However, the government has not been able to instill confidence in the city residents, as they felt insecure.

New Delhi, March 01 (ANI): A total of 557 Indians stranded in strife-torn Libya returned home in two batches by two Air India flights in the early morning on Tuesday, taking the total number of people evacuated so far by the four Air India special flights to 1,083. The fourth Air India flight landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi at around 4.30 am, bringing 331 passengers. While narrating his experience, one of the evacuees said, they were beaten up by army personnel who believed them to be mercenaries.

Ahmedabad, September 29 (ANI): The police in Gujarat defused 17 crude bombs found in a garbage dump on Monday.The bombs were found in Kalupur Darwaza area of the state's capital Ahmedabad. The low intensity bombs were inside small tobacco tins covered with thin jute rope. Police cordoned off the area and defused the bombs. The recovery comes a day before the beginning of the nine day Hindu festival of Navratri.
