Railway blames both loco drivers for WB accident

Sainthia/ Kolkata, July 20 (ANI): Vivek Sahay, Chairman of the Railway Board blamed the motorman and the assistant motorman of the Sealdah-bound express train for the collision at Sainthia station in Birbhum district of West Bengal in which more than 60 passengers reportedly died. He expressed his apprehensions while briefing the media persons at Kolkata after visiting the site of mishap on Monday. He noted that the driver of the Sealdah-bound Uttar Banga Express was moving at a very high speed and this could be one of the main causes of the mishap.

Police arrest four Maoists in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh, July 20 (ANI): Govardhan Sahu, Sub-Inspector of Narayanpur Police Station on Monday disclosed that police officials arrested four Maoists at Narayanpur in Chhattisgarh. He also mentioned that the quartet of ultras was rounded up on Sunday and the court had sent them to judicial custody. The arrested persons have been identified as Santuram, Dushram, Sonu Ram and Lachhu. The arrested Maoists belong to near by villages from where rebel recruitment is high. According to the local police officials the four youth have been involved in Maoist activities since a year and they seemed to be fresh recruits.

The farmers of Sanand city are complaining that the year has not seen enough rains to begin their cultivation and if the situation continues for the next ten to fifteen days, about 100,000 acres of land will be destroyed. Former officials of the village council say that if the rains are delayed further the village will incur losses of about 2 billion to 3 billion rupees.
