Meanwhile motorcycles cruised with 15.9 per cent growth. According to the figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, domestic passenger car sales in August stood at 94,584 units as against 98,893 units in the same month in 2007.

12 die as a bus plunges into a deep ravine

Nellore, September 12 (ANI): 12 people have been killed as a tourist bus fell in a deep ravine in Andhra Pradesh on September 11. The ill fated bus was carrying around 70 people. The District Collector said that the mishap took place because the driver was apparently driving at a high speed and could not balance the vehicle while negotiating a narrow curve. Due to darkness the rescue work was delayed but the locals sprung into action and helped the police to rescue the people speedily.

Paghman, September 13 (ANI): An Afghan provincial governor, who was also a former cabinet minister, was among four people killed in an apparent Taliban suicide bomb attack near Kabul on Saturday. Bangladeshi infiltrators arrested

Hasnabad, September 13 (ANI): Indian Border Security Force or BSF personnel arrested at least 150 Bangladeshi nationals while they were infiltrating into the Indian Territory on September 12. It was during regular patrolling that the BSF personnel found 150 infiltrators in three different raids. The infiltrators were crossing the Ichhamati River by boats. Officials reported that preliminary enquiry had been conducted and no links with the militant groups have been found yet.
