Film enthusiasts attend ongoing Tripura film festival

Agartala, July 18 (ANI): Scores of film enthusiasts are making a presence at the four-day long film festival, going on in Tripura to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the famous Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. The festival that is screening films on Tagore’s novels commenced on Friday and will conclude on Tuesday. Information and cultural affairs department of the Tripura government along with Cine Delve, a film society has organized the four-day festival. The festival includes films of internationally well-known directors like Satyajit Ray, Tapan Sinha, Purnendu Patri, besides documentaries on Tagore.

Jaipur,July 18 (ANI): Rajasthan police seized fake cosmetics items from two private shops in Nahargarh area in Jaipur on Sunday.The duplicate items are of many reputed brands.According to the Rajasthan police they received complaints from a leading cosmetic company regarding the sale of fake items in their brand's name and later they raided those shops.Police has arrested three persons and has registered cases against them under the Copyright Act and under section 420.Fake items seized were mainly body lotions,deodorants,face cream and moisturizer.

Shimla, July 17 (ANI): Stung by a deadly outbreak of diarrhoea in the region, hundreds of locals in the picturesque hill town of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh have been admitted to hospitals to undergo treatment for the disease. The disease, caused by the consumption of contaminated water, has spread like a wild forest fire across Shimla and has left scores of people reeling from the terrible ailment. Displaying symptoms such as severe stomach infection and vomiting, patients have been steadily streaming into hospitals and nursing homes. The locals alleged that the water supply in the region has been contaminated.

Jharkhand,July 17 (ANI):A drunk Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable gunned down six of his colleagues,including an assistant commandant, in a security camp in Jharkhand's Saraikela district late Friday night.He was later shot dead.The accused was identified as Harpinder Singh of 196 battalion of CRPF located in Kuchai village of the district.The accused was on sentry duty at a CRPF camp.In the firing, one sub-inspector was also injured.He has been admitted to a hospital in Jamshedpur.What provoked Singh to open fire is not known.A probe has been ordered and a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed.
