Rescue operations speed up in Orissa

Bhubneshwar, September 21 (ANI): Rescue operations in Orissa have been speeded up as the state faces the fury of flash floods due to incessant rains. At least 15 of the 30 districts in the state have been affected by the flash floods. The states disaster management agencies and the army have started evacuating thousands of stranded villagers from the affected areas. The Air Force helicopters have been pressed into service and the army men rescued people marooned in Boudh district.

An American and a German were killed while at least 13 other foreigners were among the 271 wounded. According to U.S. intelligence official, the bombing bore the signs of an attack by al Qaeda or an affiliate. On the streets, people were worried about the deteriorating security situation.
