Tamil Tigers' aircrafts shot down in Colombo

Katunayake/ Trincomalee, February 21 (ANI): Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels, now backed into the last 100 square kilometers of territory under their control in the north, launched a daring air attack on Colombo on Friday, killing five people and wounding at least 60. Many of those wounded were injured by falling shells when anti aircraft defenses were activated with people coming out of their homes to watch the firefight.

Pune, August 4 (ANI): India's health minister on Monday confirmed the country's first death from the H1N1 flu in Pune. The victim, a 14-year-old girl, was admitted to a hospital last month with symptoms of sore throat, runny nose and headaches, a government statement said. She was put on a ventilator after her condition deteriorated. Confirming the death, India's Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the teenager's life could have been saved but for proper diagnosis.
