ONGC Q3 net profit dips 6%

New Delhi, 23 Jan (ANI): The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation or ONGC has reported a 6.4 per cent drop in its net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007, as its subsidy payout to state-run oil marketing firms nearly trebled during the period. After subsidy, ONGC’s net realization in dollar terms was $54.52 a barrel.

Rajkot, Jan 27 (ANI): Two school students have come up with innovative and eco-friendly ink in six colours from entirely unusual recourses like fruits and vegetables in India’s western city of Rajkot. Pooja Dholakia and Ridhi Dasani of Gujarat conducted successful experiments and managed to extract ink from vegetables. The teenagers have formulated six natural eco-friendly ink colours by crushing beetroots, turmeric, coriander and a motley of other vegetables.

The Inflation rate grew by 4.35 per cent, a six moth high, for the week ended February 9 as compared to 4.07 per cent for the previous week. This rise was mainly due to rise in prices of food articles and manufactured products. The wholesale price index-based inflation stood at 6.52 per cent in the corresponding week a year ago.

Fourteen people killed in a road accident

Mumbai, May 4(ANI): Fourteen people were killed and five injured when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a container truck on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in western Maharashtra on May 04. The jeep that had started from Satara district carrying people of a marriage party rammed into the container truck at around 5.30 a.m. near Shedung village killing seven people on the spot. Local authorities said the ghastly accident was due to human error.
