BGIA activists demand special prosecution cell

Bus crash in Jharkhand, 19 killed

Jharkhand, June 09 (ANI): At least 19 people were killed and more than a dozen injured when a speeding bus crashed into a tree in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand on Wednesday. The bus, carrying members of a wedding party, was en route to Asansol city in neighbouring West Bengal. The tragic mishap occurred when the driver lost control of the speeding bus on the Grand Trunk Road, near Govindpuri village of Dhanbad. Sixteen people were killed on the spot while three others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

Bhopal/ New Delhi, June 08 (ANI): In a mockery of justice, a magistrate court in Bhopal on Monday evening granted bail to the seven former top executives of the Indian unit of US chemicals firm, Union Carbide, convicted in the Bhopal gas leak tragedy case earlier in the day. The accused were instantly released on submission of a surety of rupees 25000 by the trial court. After the grant of the bail the accused are likely to appeal to a higher court.
