Nanded, October 28 (ANI): Sikh pilgrims from all over the world on Monday participated in the annual cleansing ceremony, known as Takhat Snan, of Takht Shri Sachkhand Hazoor Sahib Gurudwara at Nanded in Maharashtra. Sikh pilgrims brought water from the Godavari River under the leadership of Takhat Sachkhand Jathedar. The entire 1.5 km stretch, from the banks of the Godavari to the gurudwara, was a sea of humanity, as devotees participated in the grand ceremony.

A provincial government minister said that the death toll is expected to rise. The U.S. Geological Survey said a 6.4 magnitude quake hit 60 kilometers northeast of the city of Quetta before dawn. However the Pakistan Meteorological Department put the magnitude at 6.1. The epicenter was near the scenic valley of Ziarat.

The victim Dharamdev Ramnarain Rai was employed as a laborer in a factory in Khopoli near the state capital Mumbai.
