New Delhi, August 16 (ANI): Air passengers will now have to shell out more money for travel. This is due to the refusal of the domestic carriers to retain the 5% agency commission from 1 November. Instead, travel agents are now planning to impose a transaction fee on every ticket sold. The nature and quantum of this transaction fee will be decided in a joint meeting by travel agents and airline representatives next week.

Kabul, August 3 (ANI): A roadside bomb struck a U.S.led military convoy outside the Afghan capital on Sunday. The blast killed one soldier and wounded another. The attack happened in Bagrami district on the eastern outskirts of Kabul, the latest in a spiraling cycle of violence blamed on a resurgent Taliban. A witness said a military helicopter arrived at the scene of the blast and evacuated at least three foreign nationals from a four wheel drive vehicle which was hit.

Maoist ambush kills five jawans in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh, August 30 (ANI): Five security personnel, including three BSF troopers, were killed in an ambush laid by Maoists, followed by a brief gun battle in Kanker region of Chhattisgarh on Sunday. About hundred armed Maoists attacked a search operation team in the forests near Bhuski village in the district. The attack took place in the morning when a team of district police and BSF personnel were conducting a routine search operation. Confirming the number of casualties, Vivekananda Sinha, spokesperson of Chhattisgarh Police said that even Maoists died in attack. The Maoists have spread into the rural pockets of 20 of India's 28 states. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has termed Maoists as the country's biggest internal security threat.
