Karam Chand’s body handed over to family

Himachal Pradesh, July 15 (ANI): The mortal remains of Karam Chand Katoch, a martyr of 1962 Indo-China War, were recovered on Wednesday from the Walong area in Arunachal Pradesh after 48 hours. The body of Karam Chand, of Dogra Regiment, was brought on the sameday to his hometown of Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. The body was kept in the mortuary of the Army Hospital of Palampur, and was today handed over to the family members. Katoch is survived by his sister-in-law and nephew, Raju. Karam Chand Katoch joined Indian army in 1959 in 4th Dogra Regiment when he was 19.

New Delhi, April 6 (ANI): Indian spices exports for the first eleven months of the current financial year has crossed the $1 billion-mark despite the slowdown in global trade. The eleven-month performance has crossed the value target for the financial year as fixed by the state-run spices board. During April-February 2008-09, India exported about 396,000 tonne of spices and spice products valued at more than $1 billion as against about 387,000 tonne valued at $781 million in the corresponding period of the last financial year.
