Midnapore, June 18 (ANI): Security forces on Thursday surrounded troubled region of Lalgarh in West Bengal-declared a free zone by the Maoist-and launched an all out soft offensive to flush out the maoists. According to reports, five hundred CRPF personnel, including 200 personnel of the elite COBRA trained in anti-Maoist operations, have been deployed to deal with the situation.

Kanker, September 24 (ANI): In a co-ordinated operation, Chhattisgarh police and BSF personnel, on Thursday nabbed a suspected Maoist from dense forests of Bhanupratap Pur in state's Kanker district. The arrested rebel, identified as Anesh Usendi, was later produced before the designated judge at Bhanupratap Pur where he was remanded to police custody. Police also recovered a gun, bomb and wire at his behest.
