Japan, April 15 (ANI): Thousands of visitors queued at the entrance of Tokyo Disneyland amusement park since Friday morning as it reopened to public after it was closed for more than a month following the massive earthquake that hit parts of Japan. More than 10,000 park visitors enjoyed reunions with their favorite Disney characters today, which also marks the 28th anniversary of the resort. Authorities said the park remained largely undamaged by the earthquake, except one roller coaster, which was still out-of-service due to safety checks.

74 percent turnout in Kerala's 'peaceful' election

New Delhi/ Kerala, April 14 (ANI): Around 74 percent voter turnout was witnessed in the polls to the provincial legislature in Kerala on Wednesday. In Kerala, a total of 74.4 per cent of 23 million-strong electorate cast their franchise in all the 140 constituencies across the state. The state's Kannur district topped in the turnout recording 80.4 per cent, followed by Kozhikode with 80.2 per cent and Alappuzha and Ernakulam with 77.8 and 77.4 per cent respectively. The lowest voter participation was reported from Pathanamthitta with 68.2 percent and provincial capital of Thiruvananthapuram with 68.5 per cent.

Bareily, April 14 (ANI): A national- level sportswoman career crippled when she was thrown from a moving train by some robbers in Bareilly, who wanted to snatch her gold chain. 23-year-old Sonu Sinha, a member of the UP volleyball squad, was pushed out of a moving train when she resisted attempts by robbers to snatch her gold chain. She lost a leg after she was hit by another train passing the adjacent tracks, on Wednesday morning. A day after the incident the railway officials visited the athlete who is now under going treatment in the city’s District Hospital. Divisional Railway Manager K. B. Nanda met Sinha and contended that lack of support from public led to delay in action by the railways.
