Second phase of polls in Assam peaceful: EC

New Delhi, April 12 (ANI): Deputy Election Commissioner Alok Shukla at a press conference in New Delhi on Monday confirmed that the second phase of assembly polls in Assam was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere. Further he informed that out of a total number of 96,77,113 voters who participated in the second phase, the turnout happened to be around 65 percent. The EC official also said that out of 12,589 polling stations though four were marred by some sort of violence, the polling went on uninterrupted.

Belarus Blast: Death toll climbs up to 12

Minsk, April 12 (ANI): Belarus security service said on Tuesday that the death toll from a subway explosion in the Belarusian capital Minsk on Monday has reached 12.The blast occurred at the metro station Oktyabrskaya on a square during the rush hours just about 100 metres from the administration building of President Alexander Lukashenko. Victims were carried out of the station and the injured were given on-the-spot medical treatment by ambulance workers and sent to hospitals.
