Jamshedpur,June 28 (ANI):Labourers of the Tata steel plant put cars on fire after a security guard allegedly beat up a labourer on Monday in Jamshedpur. About 15 motorbikes and 6 cars,out of which two belonged to the police,were burnt down. Police personnel arrived at the spot to control the angry mob.The labourers resorted to pelting,injuring some policemen.The labourers say that the security guard often beat up them on the pretext of security check.A similar incident took place today that led the labourers to turn violent outside the factory premises.

New Delhi, December 03 (ANI): The Chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Nandan Nilekani on Thursday, said that the authority would empower the people of India to take full benefits from welfare schemes, in due course becoming a tool of development and social inclusion. Nilekani while addressing audience at the annual Rajinder Mathur Memorial Lecture said the UID will put an end to the dysfunctional identity structure in India by providing a social welfare net for all. Elaborating on the scheme, Nilekani added that it costs the authority Rs.50 to enrol each individual for the Unique ID (UID) and another Rs.50 on back-end costs.

Locals of Gajapati district in Orissa are living under constant fear due to frequent gun battles between Maoists and police personnel.
