Tourists keep flocking Mumbai allaying all fears
1:39 Mumbai, November 25 (ANI): Foreign tourists continued to throng Mumbai city despite fears of a rerun of the 26/11 attacks on the second anniversary of the militant strike, which killed more than 166 people. A red alert was sounded in Mumbai by union Home Ministry, ahead of the second anniversary of the attacks, based on credible intelligence about the Pakistan-based militant group, Lashkar-e-Taiba. Despite the heightened security, foreign tourists were seen visiting the Gateway of India and other sites of the attacks. They downplayed the threat, saying that everyone had recovered quickly. Jairam releases interim report on modes for low carbon emissions
2:45 New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): Indian environmental scientists, research scholars and economists have ascertained various modes for sustainable growth with least possible carbon emissions. Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh along with Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission released the interim report of this study on low carbon emissions in New Delhi on Monday. He further said that the report would form an integral aspect of India's 12th Five Year Plan. The report has been prepared by a 25-member Expert Group set up last year by the Planning Commission under the leadership of economist Kirit Parikh. Briefing the mediapersons about this survey and the findings, Ramesh said that the final report named 'Low carbon strategies for inclusive growth' would be ready by next year.
