Orissa, March 06 (ANI): Police arrested a top Maoist leader, identified as Shatrughan or Manglu Biswal from Bargarh district of Orissa on Sunday. Biswal, who is a member of Orissa state Committee, was arrested from Bargarh railway station on the charge of his involvement in subversive activities. Police also seized one 9 mm pistol, six live ammunitions, Maoist literature and posters, mobile phone and 54,500 rupees in cash from his possession. Police officials said that Biswal who was a resident of Erasama area of Jagatsinghpur district was the key person in the Left-wing outfit (Communist Party Marxist).

Jhargram, April 02 (ANI): Maoists killed a school teacher in Jhargram area of West Bengal on Friday. 42-year-old Parbat Mahto, a worker of Communist Party of India-Marxist's youth wing Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), was abducted by the rebels from near his residence. Mahto, a para-teacher of Ghritakham Primary School, was picked up when he had gone to take a bath at a nearby pond at yesterday morning.
