Jalpaiguri, May 18(ANI): Third phase of the panchayat polls or village council elections got a smooth and peaceful start amidst tight security in West Bengal on Sunday, May 18. Polls are being held in five districts namely Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri, North and South Dinajpur and Malda for the third phase. 8,500 extra police personnel were deployed and two armed policemen posted in every booth to ensure peaceful elections.
